Our Technology Footprint
Cenamps' strategic technology footprint has been formulated to strengthen and build on the region’s capabilities in innovating emerging small-scale technologies. Our technology footprint reflects the new opportunities offered by three key converging technologies:
- Micro/nano structured materials
- Biosciences & biotechnologies
- Information & communication technologies
Specifically, we are focusing on emerging technologies in four areas that have strong societal and consumer ties:
Flexible functional materials
Direct write technologies and materials such as conducting polymers will provide the foundation for the next electronics technology revolution. Low-cost polymer electronic technologies will change how we interact with objects, devices and our surroundings.
Ambient intelligence
Embedded intelligence for realising the possibility of smart homes, community spaces and offices of the future. Environments will have the potential to contain objects with embedded electronics, microprocessors and storage, exhibiting natural feeling interaction resulting in a "calm environment"
Enhancing quality of life
The next generation of consumer products for enhancing the quality of our everyday lives is a not so distant prospect. Smart and reconfigurable products that make everyday life simpler and enable people to live more self-determined and expressive lives form a key part of our technology footprint.
Improving healthcare & well-being
The 21st Century will witness major transformations in healthcare services. Preventative and highly patient-centric medicine will be made possible by emerging advances, significantly in genomics, biocompatible materials and bioinformatics.
