Universities

Cenamps works very closely with the five regional universities based in the North East of England to help better connect elements of their R&D bases with industrial needs. We also work with universities and research bases across the UK and internationally on collaborative R&D projects and activities. There is a growing need in advanced nations to strengthen their economic foundations and adapt their regional economies to global shifts in trade and supply chains. Commercially focused university departments can offer new technologies and know-how that can be adopted by regional businesses to strengthen their competitive edge.

Cenamps can engage with universities on a number of fronts including:

  • Collaborative R&D Projects: we can work with you to establish a market-led R&D collaborative project from evolving the project concept, to building the consortium through sourcing funds via EU Framework Programme 6/7 and UK government public funds such as DTI Collaborative R&D calls. We can subsequently work together to co-ordinate the project and establish commercialisation routes for the technology
  • State-of-the-art facilities: helping you to establish new R&D facilities for the region, especially facilities targeted for open access use enabling industry to use the facilities or associated services
  • Developing contract R&D services: we can can work with you to link your knowledge, intellectual property and know-how to industry more effectively by establishing a technology solutions programme offering subcontract and consultancy services
  • Establishing and nurturing start-up companies: aiding in establishing a new start-up and nurturing existing small companies to support their rapid growth
